Log in, registration and accounts

How do I register/create a new account?

To create an account click on 'create new account' which is located under the 'log in' button in the right-hand sidebar.

How do I log in?

To log in (assuming you have previously registered) simply fill in your 'username' and 'password' and click on the 'log in' button, all located in the right-hand sidebar.

What do I do if I've lost my password?

Assuming you have previously registered you are able to retrieve your password if you cannot remember it. To do this simply click on 'request new password' which is located underneath the 'log in' button in the right hand sidebar. You will then need to enter either your e-mail address or username associated with your account. A replacement password will be e-mailed to you.

How do I change my account details?

You can change or add to your account details by clicking on the 'my content' link in the right hand sidebar. This assumes that you are currently logged into the website. You will be directed to your account page - simply click on 'edit' at the top of the page in order to change your details.

How do I know if I'm logged in?

If you're logged into the website your username will appear at the top of the right hand sidebar.

Who can see my account details?

The only account details visible to others are your username, your location, your country and your 'avatar'.

What is an avatar?

An avatar is a small image you are able to associate with your account. On your account page you have the options to upload a graphic (or photo), use CleftWorld's standard avatar image or use no avatar at all. It's not a requirement, simply a fun way of presenting yourself to others.

Adding content to the site

How do I create content for the site?

Click on the 'create content' link under your username in the right hand sidebar - this will take you to a page which lists all the content types you can work with. Generally this will include the following:

  • Amazon - allows you to review Amazon books.
  • Forum Topic - allows you to post a new forum topic (including a 'marketplace' item.
  • Image - this will allow you to upload photos to the 'before and after' gallery.
  • How do I add comments?

    In addition to the above types of content you can also add 'comments' to pages and postings. You can add a comment wherever you see the 'Add new comment' link at the bottom of a posting - simply click on the link. Please note, you are required to be a registered user in order to be able to post comments.

    How do I add photos to the gallery?

    Simply click on the 'create content' link in the right hand sidebar and then select the 'Gallery Photo' option. This will load a page which will allow you to choose an image, give it a title and enter some text. Alternatively you can click on the "Photos" link at the top of the page and then click on the "add yours here" link next to the little header photo.

    Do you accept anonymous postings?

    No we do not. In order to post a comment or create content you will need to have registered. This is largely to combat spam.

    Can I break anything by adding content?

    Nope, it's all fine, go ahead.

    How do I edit content that I have submitted?

    You can edit content you have submitted by loading the content page and then selecting "edit" at the top of the page next to or below the content title.

    What does 'search" do?

    'Search' in the left hand sidebar allows you to search through the site for specific content. Simply enter a keyword here and click on the 'search' button - if a post containing that keyword has been published it will be listed for you to link to.

    How do I get back to the front (home) page?

    Easy, simply click on the CleftWorld logo situated at the top left of all pages.
