A voluntary team from the US Operation Smile Program will visit Vietnam next Wednesday to treat and raise awareness of oral and dental diseases.

The Japanese Cleft Palate Foundation and its director Dr. Nagato Natsume have been awarded the Labour Order, third class, by the Vietnamese State .

Thanks to the dedication of Operation Smile Viet Nam (OSV), thousands of people have received free surgery, and smiles are getting broader as the charity continues to expand its mission across the country.

VietNamNet Bridge – Kicking off with 14 free operations in northern Quang Ninh province, the Operation Smile Consulting Association (OSCA) is expected to become the first professional model in providing facial surgeries and functional rehabilitation for children in Vietnam.

To date, individuals, domestic and international organisations have donated nearly US$62 million to disabled children through the National Fund for Vietnamese Children. The fund has launched many programmes including "For Children's Smiles" which has granted free surgery to 13,000 cleft children since 1997. Read The Rest »

A report from Transworldnews: during it's 25th Anniversary, Operation Smile will conduct an international medical mission to Bao Loc to assist children born with facial deformities. The medical team consisting of more than 50 volunteers from Italy, New Zealand, the US and Vietnam will be the first international mission to Bao Loc.
