T-shirts

All proceeds from the sale of our t-shirts goes to a cleft charity.

We sell t-shirts via two sites, CafePress and Spreadshirt.

Both are reputable companies based in the US and Germany (respectively). Wikipedia has this to say about CafePress and Spreadshirt.

Here's how it works: we set up a store via the above sites. These stores allow us to upload our designs and match them with t-shirts and other merchandise. When an order is placed, CafePress or Spreadshirt will print the item and ship it out. All transactions and printing are handled by these companies - all we do is supply the designs.

Since we don't carry any of the costs of manufacturing or shipping the companies set a base price for each item. We then have the option of adding a markup on top of this base price. It is this markup that represents the profit that is made by CleftWorld and it is this profit which is donated to a cleft charity.

At this point we wait a few months until a payment becomes available - we then pick one of our listed charities and donate the proceeds. For the next cycle we pick another charity and so on until we run out of charities, at which point we start at the top again.

If you'd like an overview of the donations that are made, you can do so via our Donations Tracking page.
